When the schools shut down in wake of the coronavirus, the parents and teachers of Alpharetta Elementary School knew they had to do something to help. A call for donations went out at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, March 13, with only hours to collect. By 11 a.m. they had raised $11,000 in grocery giftcards and were able to help out around 30 families in need at Alpharetta Elementary.
