When medical aesthetician Nancy Shim first got into the business, lashes were a side gig to the skin care services she was already known for in Midtown. But as her reputation for bigger and bolder lashes and brows grew, so did her need for space. In 2018, she reopened as Sweet & Lashful Day Spa / MENICURE (Men’s Grooming Spa) in a bigger, brighter space in the heart of Buckhead. In 5,000 square feet, Sweet & Lashful is a one-stop beauty shop. The boutique offers both classic and volume lash extensions and keratin lash lifts executed by a highly skilled team of lash masters using medical-grade, organic products to promote lash health.
In addition, Shim’s team of technicians includes experts in waxing, semipermanent makeup, nail care, skin care and
massage, as well as a full menu of the same services geared toward men. But what makes Sweet & Lashful different from the myriad of other beauty service spas in the neighborhood is the sense of serenity Shim has built the brand around.
Entering the day spa is an immediate escape—that’s on purpose. “It was really important to me when we came over
here that people would get that chance to truly relax,” Shim says. “We serve moms on the go, business men and women who don’t have a lot of spare time, and a lot of people who want to pop in before the weekend for their service. Having those clients come in here and feel like they’ve escaped— even if just for an hour or so—
makes a difference to me.”
Shim appeases those schedules two ways: by offering multiple services during appointment times and by encouraging memberships that allot\ dedicated me-time that clients can customize. Both work toward Shim’s goal to encourage beauty and wellness that begins on the inside.
“When we came to Buckhead, I realized these women—and men—have seen it all,” she says. “But what I could offer them by treating them from the inside out was unlike anything they’d been exposed to before. We provide that
holistic, complete service that bene ts your health; and when you feel better as a whole, that helps deliver better results on the outside. It’s what makes you want to keep coming back.”
That said, it’s no surprise Shim and her team have earned repeated “Best of” Atlanta awards since inception, plus several awards amongst their own industry leaders. They’ve paved the way for a future that includes expansion of a teahouse into a custom wellness corner where clients can consult with supplement experts to renew their spirits, events to showcase new and different treatment options, including an extended list of medical-grade skin care, such as lasers, injectables and more, plus space for wellness programs like yoga and private parties, and nally, in-house training opportunities to better equip existing technicians and harbor new talent to continue serving a growing clientele.
When she’s not serving the men and women of Buckhead, Shim loves to eat at Le Colonial at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, and you’ll often spot her hanging out at Divan.
